Level contest terms
Version of 29 September 2026 (version 2026-09-29.3)
1. Organiser
The level contest is organised by the provider of striduel.com named in the imprint. Questions about the contest go to contact@striduel.com.
2. What it is about
In the level contest you submit levels you built yourself for the game Resonance Cave. After the deadline, the organiser picks one winning level. Taking part is free of charge.
3. Taking part
- You can use the level editor without an account. To submit, you need a creator account with a creator name.
- You only submit levels you built yourself.
- People directly involved in organising, running or choosing the winner of the contest in question are excluded from taking part.
- Minors may take part if the required consent of their legal representative has been given. If you are under 18, only submit your level with the consent of your parent or legal guardian.
- You can only submit a level you solved yourself in the editor. The server replays your solution; a level without a valid solution is not accepted.
- If you submit during the submission phase, the submission takes part in the contest. By taking part you accept these terms in the version shown when you submit.
4. Period
The start, the deadline and the announcement of the winner are shown on the striduel.com start page and in the level editor while the contest runs. A submission from the deadline onwards no longer takes part in the contest; you can still submit it as a community level.
5. Review and publication
Every submission is reviewed before it is published, like any community level. Approved levels can appear publicly in the community while the contest is still running, with their title and creator name. Only a level that is approved and publicly listed in the community at the time of the choice can win.
6. Choosing the winner
There is no community voting, no likes and no points. The organiser picks the winning level after the deadline, guided by these criteria:
- creativity
- puzzle design
- meaningful use of the resonance mechanic
- fair and understandable difficulty
- overall experience
Nothing is calculated from the criteria: there is no points system and no ranking.
7. Prize
There is exactly one winning level. The prize consists of a Striduel tote bag and a prominent presentation of the winning level on Striduel for 14 days after the winner is announced. The prize cannot be paid out in cash.
During those 14 days the winning level is shown large on the striduel.com start page, with its title and creator name. Afterwards it remains a public community level for as long as it is published, marked there as “Contest winner”. No particular reach, number of visitors or clicks, and no placement beyond the presentation described here, is promised.
8. Notification and shipping
After the public announcement we notify you by e-mail at the address of your creator account. The e-mail contains a personal link. Through it you enter your name and postal address for shipping; you do not need to sign in. We never ask for your address by e-mail reply.
We collect the shipping details only after the win and separately from your creator account. We use them only to ship the tote bag and delete them 30 days after shipping. See the privacy statement for details.
You have 14 days from the sending of the winner e-mail to enter your shipping details. If none have arrived after 7 days, we remind you once by e-mail. When the 14 days have passed, the claim to the tote bag lapses. Your winner status, the “Contest winner” mark and the presentation of the winning level are not affected; there is no replacement winner.
Taking part is generally possible internationally, as far as taking part and providing the prize are legally and practically possible in the country concerned. Striduel bears the costs of providing and shipping the prize. The way the prize is delivered may vary with the recipient's country. Any import duties, customs or comparable charges levied by the recipient's country are borne by the winner.
9. Withdrawal and account
If you withdraw a submission or delete your creator account, the submission no longer takes part in the contest. If you have already entered your shipping details after winning, you can still delete your account: the shipping details then remain stored separately from the account, solely for shipping the tote bag, and are deleted 30 days after shipping. If you delete your account before entering shipping details, the claim to the tote bag lapses.
10. Versions of these terms
Every version carries a date. A participation is governed by the version shown when you submitted; it is stored with the participation.
